A musician, actor, video director, and humanitarian, Alex Boyé is a global visionary and calls his multi-cultural, multi-generational style, ‘pop music with an African twist.’With the release of his new album, Coming To Amerika, he hopes to bring Africa to America and release some pop hits in between! “My goal is to create music that’s more than entertaining; I’m creating innertainment – music you feel inside! I want to bring cultures together and impact all people!” shares Boyé.

The inspiration from the album title Coming To Amerika comes from Eddie Murphy’s movie. “Coming to America was one of my favorite movies growing up,” shares Boyé. “I came from England to America literally following a dream I had. In the dream, I was surrounded by a salty lake. When I arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah, my mom would say in her African accent – Alex, how is everything going in Amer-i-ka and she spelled it with a ‘k’ so I decided to spell the album title, Coming To Amerika, with a ‘k’ as well!”

Of Nigerian descent, Boyé was raised in London where he began his music career in the successful European boy band Awesome, selling over half a million albums before moving to the US to pursue a career as a solo artist. He received a standing ovation when he performed on the 10th season of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. His electric performance of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” brought the audience to their feet, leaving judge Howie Mandel to state, “in my 6 years of judging this show, this is the best musical act I’ve seen!” He was named “Hard Rock Rising Artist Of The Year” in a 2017 “Hard Rock Rising Battle Of the Bands” competition sponsored by Pepsi and Hard Rock Café and has shared the stage with many notable artists including Jay-Z, Tim McGraw, George Michael, Missy Elliott, Justin Timberlake, and The Beach Boys. His electric performance and showmanship has even taken him to the world-renowned Royal Albert Hall in London.

Throughout his career, Boyé’s genuine concern and generosity toward others has been a central theme in his music. He has raised money for many and maintains messages of positivity and perseverance in his lyrics. His latest single, “Bend Not Break” produced by K.C. Knight, executive produced Randy Jackson (“American Idol”) and penned by Jordan Powers & Alex Boyé was written to carry a message of hope and awareness to those struggling with mental illness and considering suicide. In support of his work around both causes year-round, Alex has just been made an official advocate by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. “My purpose for this song and video is to help save lives. Even if it can save just one, then we have done something great!
